Sofitel Sydney Wentworth launches Archies program celebrating 13 years of partnering with the Art Gallery of NSW
In its 13th year of partnership, Sydney’s ‘hotel for the arts’, Sofitel Sydney Wentworth, is stepping up its art inspired Archies program to support the highly anticipated Archibald Prize 2018, launching Friday 11th of May, 2018.
The hotel’s renowned Archibald High Tea will again return, served for the first time in the new Tea Lounge, featuring ‘Art on a Plate’ desserts and a mini Archie display in the glamorous lobby of the iconic hotel.
Chef Boris Cuzon creates edible replicas of three 2018 finalist’s artworks, on decadent white chocolate for guests to enjoy – the artworks include Vanessa Stockard’s ‘self portrait’, Marc Etherington’s ‘Me and Granny’ and Dee Smart’s ‘Lunch in the outback’. Including tea and coffee, this High Tea is priced at $69 per person and includes a ticket to the 2018 Archibald Prize - showing at the Art Gallery of NSW from May 12th – September 9th, 2018.
Chef de Cuisine Steven Hartert, presents a luscious ‘Art on a Plate’ chocolate dessert that can be enjoyed in the oasis of Garden Court restaurant.
Sofitel Sydney Wentworth also celebrates its partnership with a captivating mini Archie display in the lobby of the hotel, featuring reproductions of most recognizable and portrayed celebrities. Guests can view this incredible display from the 17th May – 31st August 2018 revisiting reproductions of Packing Room Prize 2017: Peter Smeeth, Lisa Wilkinson Winner: People’s Choice 2013: Vincent Fantauzzo, Love face and Winner: Archibald Prize 2016: Louise Hearman, Barry.
