Located on level 3, the 629m² Wentworth Ballroom is renowned for its grandeur. The spectacular chandeliers and classic 1960’s mirrored ceiling are well-recognised and popular features of the hotel. Accommodating up to 1,100 people in cocktail stand-up function, the completely pillarless ballroom is one of the largest in Sydney and equipped with advanced audio-visual facilities delivered by Sofitel Wentworth’s own in-house audio-visual team. The 3rd floor of Sofitel Sydney Wentworth is completely dedicated to events and features a large foyer area that is suitable for use as exhibition space as well as session breakouts or pre-function gatherings. Ideal for weddings and company events, the maginificent Wentworth Ballroom can also be split into three sections that can hold 299 to 304 people in a theatre-style set up. In 1923, the Prince of Wales (later King Edward VIII) danced in the ballroom, providing a royal seal that 60 years on would see Prince Charles lead his new bride Princess Diana around the now heritage-listed dance floor. It was to be Charles and Diana’s last public dance as a married couple.
