Sofitel Sydney teams up with Dilmah Tea and Australian Celebrity Chef Peter Kuruvita

Sofitel Sydney Wentworth launches its brand new partnership with Dilmah Australia and presents two magnifique events, presented by long term Dilmah ambassador and award winning Chef, Peter Kuruvita.

Peter has been an award-winning chef and restaurateur for three-decades and is also known for his cookbooks and SBS Television series. Peter is well known for his time at Sydney’s iconic Flying Fish Restaurant & Bar which he opened in 2004 and successfully led the kitchen team as Executive Chef for eight-years. He is now operating Noosa Beach House at Sofitel Noosa Pacific Resort.

Peter’s signature style of fresh quality seafood, stunning ambience and iconic locations can now be experienced at Sofitel Sydney Wentworth.

A culinary journey with Peter Kuruvita

Indulge in welcome canapés, four delicate courses of indulgent cuisine and a tea inspired cocktail on arrival, inspired by award-winning Chef, Peter Kuruvita.

Tucked away in the exclusive surrounds of Garden Court Restaurant on level 5 of Sofitel Sydney Wentworth, let us take you on a culinary journey. Peter has crafted a tea inspired menu featuring a refreshing tea cocktail, Kandy gunpowder green tea Onagri with torched salmon; Duck breast, celeriac, hazelnut, plums and Mango Doombastalawa tea sponge, and a spiced chai with chocolate sphere to round off dessert.

Interact with Peter whilst he shares his extensive knowledge about Dilmah Tea and how to bring the aroma of tea and its infusions to cooking.

Peter, not only hails from the birthplace of fine Ceylon tea but has worked for many years with Dilmah tea to develop the concept of tea gastronomy.  A judge for many years for the Dilmah Global high tea Challenge and Menu consultant for Dilmah t-Lounges across the globe, Peter is an expert on the nuances of this ancient revered herb. He has created a show case menu using the delicate flavours of tea as a food ingredient.
