Sofitel Sydney Wentworth
The most wonderful time of the year is just around the corner and Sydney knows how to celebrate the festive season in style. Buildings glow with vibrant light projections, carollers sing on street corners and pop up shops offer last minute Christmas goodies. The whole city takes on a festival atmosphere with lights, music, food and fun, and you’ll be swept up in the magic.
- Start your celebrations with a visit to the huge interactive Christmas tree in Martin Place. Standing more than 20 metres tall, the tree is wrapped in a high tech digital ribbon (along with plenty of traditional decorations). Visitors can text or tweet their own message and see it light up along the ribbon. While you’re there, have a dance on the interactive floor connected to the tree.
- Carols in the Domain is the largest free Christmas concert in the country and has been entertaining audiences for more than 30 years. Keep December 18 free to watch stars like Samantha Jade, Dami Im, Adam Brand and Johnny Ruffo perform classic carols. Family favourites The Wiggles and Mickey & Minnie Mouse will be on hand to delight the kids.
- Sydney is blessed with ideal weather in November and December - powdery white sand along sparkling beaches is our perfect ‘White Christmas’. The Bondi to Coogee walk in the eastern suburbs is one of the city’s most popular coastal tracks. The easy walk winds for six kilometres and has spectacular views of beaches, cliffs, bays and rock pools. There are plenty of places to stop for a rest or a swim, and pubs, cafes and restaurants at each suburb along the route.
- Sydney in summertime equals seafood, and what’s Christmas without a little indulgence? Garden Court Restaurant at Sofitel Sydney Wentworth offers an annual sumptuous seafood buffet to celebrate Christmas Day. Executive Chef Boris Cuzon will prepare mouth-watering king crab legs, steamed mussels, Pacific oysters and much more. Garden Court Restaurant will also be offering a festive menu with two and three-course set menu options available throughout the season. The Sofitel offers a feast for the eyes as well, with twinkling lights, vibrant decorations and glittering Christmas trees on display throughout the hotel.
The Sofitel Sydney Wentworth is right in the heart of the festive action, just steps from the Martin Place Christmas tree and within easy walking distance of all the city has to offer. Celebrate Christmas at one of Sydney’s most historic five-star hotels, which lights up for the holiday season. It’s the best place to sleep, eat, drink and be merry!
