The Art Gallery of NSW Sofitel Sydney

Winter has arrived which means many parents are scratching their heads trying to figure out how they are going to entertain their kids on the weekends. As well as looking for ways to use those NSW Stay vouchers and Parents NSW vouchers you have forgotten about! We have done the hard work for you and rounded up some great ideas on how to keep the kids occupied without breaking the bank.

Be inspired by The ‘Young Archies’ The Archibald Prize for children

In case you weren’t aware, the famous Australian portraiture competition has now created a separate Archibald competition specifically for kids to submit their artworks into. The ten Young Archies finalists from each children’s age category are displayed at the Art Gallery of NSW from 5 June to 26 September 2021 and the honourable mentions are featured at the SH Ervin Gallery. It is a great opportunity for your budding artists to get inspired, or support their peers in their artistic endeavors. And the adults can enjoy our exclusive Archibald Stay Package with Luxury Club Sofitel Room and food & beverage exclusive deals. Take a look here.

Visit The Art Gallery of NSW for family fun

The Art Gallery of NSW is located within beautiful parklands overlooking Sydney Harbour and only 15 minutes’ walk from the city centre. The best part is that admission to the Gallery is free and their family art programs encourage childhood creativity and family bonding. A true playbox for the imagination, The Art Gallery allows families to look, think, create and play like an artist. On Wednesdays till Sundays the Gallery will hold Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art guided tour, to help your children learn about the traditional First Nations Peoples.

Take an underwater journey at SEALIFE Sydney Aquarium

The Aquarium is the perfect choice in winter when you want to entertain the kids for hours but still stay warm indoors. The SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium is home to over 13,000 aquatic animals in over 90 tanks. It's an experience the kids will remember forever and it is an educational one as well. Take your time strolling through the glass tanks (and the glass tunnel) or enjoy one of many shows held throughout the day.
